From the Napa Mountains to the Mediterranean
An Intimate Evening with Peter Franus
At The Black Olive, we’ve always believed that the most meaningful wines come from relationships—real ones, built over time.
Because of that, we like to offer our wine club members the first opportunity to join us when something special comes along.
On Tuesday, March 24, we’ll be welcoming our friend Peter Franus, along with his wife Deanne, for a small, intimate dinner centered around his wines and the kind of food we love to cook.
This isn’t meant to be a formal “wine event.”
It’s a table. A conversation. A chance to slow down a bit.
Peter has spent decades working with hillside vineyards in Napa—especially on Mount Veeder—crafting wines that are balanced, expressive, and meant to be enjoyed at the table rather than analyzed.
For the evening, we’ve selected a lineup that reflects that philosophy:
Albariño from Lake County
Mourvèdre
Zinfandel from Brandlin Vineyard
Napa Valley Red
Cabernet Sauvignon from Brandlin Vineyard
We’ll pair these wines with a multi-course menu drawn from over 30 years in our kitchen. Each course offers a choice—fish, meat, or vegetarian—so the experience remains personal while staying true to the wines.
Peter will be with us throughout the evening, sharing stories of the vineyards, the vintages, and the path that brought these wines to the table.
And for those who connect with the wines (which we think you will), there will be an opportunity to take some home at special pricing, available only for the evening.
